Club Rules & FAQs

General Club Rules

Q What are the Court Booking Rules?

A All courts must be booked.

Full members can only play ONCE during peak time each day unless a court becomes available after noon that day.

We are required by Sport England to submit our court usage numbers twice a year as part of our funding agreement - so please book all the courts you use.

Q What if I need to cancel a court on the day?

A  If you need to cancel a court please try to do so more than 24 hours in advance yourself to allow others to use it. If it is later than that please text Kean (07971 117304) or Steve (07715 021313) so they can cancel it for you.

Q Can I bring a guest to play?

A  You are welcome to bring a guest to play 3 times a year but please add them in to your booking and pay £5 guest fee via the link on the Bookings page. You can have 1 guest per squash booking, and 2 per Padel, during off peak times.

Q How old does a Junior have to be to be left unsupervised at the Club?

A We welcome junior members at the Club but from a Safeguarding point of view children under the age of 14 are not allowed to be left at the Club unsupervised.

Q What equipment do I need?

A Please make sure your shoes are non marking, and that you change into them when you are inside the club - our car park is dusty and we don’t want the courts to get dirty as well!

Also if you're a junior (U19) you need to wear goggles

Q How do I get involved more?

We are always looking for volunteers and there are many ways you can get involved from helping run the Saturday bar, to helping out at social events, helping with club maintenance and publicity. If you have time, or a skill you think can help us - get in touch with one of the committee at [email protected]

Q What happens if I join the leagues but can't play my matches / or am injured?

A Please let the others in your league know and if you want leaving out leave a message on the forum. Its better if you are unlikely to be able to play for a bit to drop out for a bit rather than let others down who want to play.

Q Who is responsible for keeping the club clean and tidy?

A You are - We all are! The club is run by volunteers and although we have cleaners twice a week to clean changing rooms and courts, we would like everyone to leave the club as they find it -  put rubbish in the bins, remember to take your belongings back with you!

Q How do I find out what is happening at the Club?

A We put notices up on the Club noticeboard in the reception, the blackboard in the corridor and other whiteboards etc around the club and changing rooms. We also send out regular e-newsletters, Facebook posts and tweets - so please look out for these

As a Club we follow England Squash's Safeguarding & Equality Policies. These Policies can be found here:
