Over the weekend the Leicestershire County Closed Squash Tournament was held at Leicester Squash Club.
As always Market Harborough Squash Club was well represented and once again the club came away with some champions.

In the Girls Competition, Isabella Zurdo won both her games to take the U11 Girls title, with clubfeet Nanami Westerby coming runner up.

In the Boys competitions the club had success in both the U13 and U15 age groups.

Max Wilson (age 11) entered in the under 13 boys competition. This was his first event at the older aged group and he won his fixtures on the Saturday putting him through to the  semi-finals against the No. 1 seeded Charles Bates. Although losing his first game, Wilson came back to win 3-1 and securing his place in the final.  This was against Billy Bowes (seeded 3), who he had played in the 2015 under 11’s final the previous year and lost. It was a closely contested final  with Wilson taking the first game, but narrowly lost the next two.  He managed to bring the score back to 2 games all and it became a very tense final game.  Both boys played some great squash but Wilson finally came through winning the last game 13-11 to win the match.

In the Boy’s U15 event, Harborough’s Bradley Crane (14) beat clubmate James Aram in the semi final before playing Anuj Savani in the Final.
Crane won his final 3-0 becoming U15 Champion, with Aram coming in 4th.
