There were two very tired Avils at the end of Saturday evening - but very happy ones. The Chairman had had a great day seeing the Club at it's vibrant best.
Instead of our usual end of term sinlges competitions we got the juniors trying their hand at Doubles and they loved it! Hopefully this will inspire them to enter the Junior Doubles competition that will be part of the Presidents Doubles Competition on February 28th. 30 Juniors tried their hand at it and they played very well, with not too many mishaps! With so many siblings in the club we spotted some great potential pairings - the Deans and Jacklins in particular!
This was then followed by the smaller juniors of the club having their Christmas Party. 22 youngsters came along to do some squash related games - the highlight of which was trying to pop balloons blutacked to the cut line! Well done to Millie Milverton for the first bursting of one on Alison's court. The kids then enjoyed some party food (thanks to the mums for sorting the food out!) and a visit from Father Christmas.
Many of the kids and parents then stayed on for Family night - an evening of squash, racketball, good company and food - thanks to Manju and Masako for some terrific food!
The Committee say thanks to all those that have helped out and supported the Club in 2014, have a great Christmas and heres to an exciting, even bigger 2015!
