This Sunday Market Harborough were visited by Hinckley Trinity & Hermitage 2 for the third junior team match of the season. The matches started with Market Harborough playing against Trinity. For Harborough, Charlie Dean in his second outing for the club, played very well to beat Harry Minckley 3-0. At number 2 for Harborough Curan Tahim played Dan Ridout, a U17 county player. Curan played well when he got into rallies but struggled with the excellent hard and accurate serves of his opponent who went on to win 3-0. Playing at number 1 Alistair Geear played Simon Herbert, one of the top players for his age in the Midlands. After some great effort by both players Herbert went two games up. Geear came back to take the third 11-6 before Herbert closed out the fourth and final game 11-6.
Against Hermitage Curan Tahim played good squash against Ben Clarke and was unfortunate not to take a game or two. He lost 8-11, 4-11, 9-11. At number 1 Alistair Geear and Tom Wills matched each other well in quality of drives, drops and athleticism round the court. Clarkes’ powerful hitting saw him win through in the end 11/8, 11/7, 11/6.
In the final matches of the day Hinckley Trinity defeated Hermitage 2 by three games to love.
Well done to all the players
