Internal Junior Competition

There was some highly competitive squash being played this morning by the juniors in the second of their competition mornings.

In the first sections, the five junior members played each other in a round robin. The importance of good serving was highlighted and the morning ended with a tie between Oscar and Daniel McGuiness.

In the older group, 7 boys played in a handicapped round robin, PAR to 9. The handicaps proved to be very good with players finishing only a few points between them. Star of the morning was Bradley Crane, who won all 6 of his games, closely followed by Alistair Geear who won 5 of his, and Greg Burns with 4 wins. This showed a lot of discipline by the stronger players who had to overcome the handicapping.

Player of the Week for showing all round good play, and responsibility was Curan Tahim who helped sort the games out and never shirked from marking games.

In the second session, the juniors were split into two groups who played a round robin, PAR to 7. In one group, the winner was William Jacklin who won all his games, however there was only 7 points separating the top 4.

In the other group, the winner was Max Ellis who again won all his games. This was closely followed though by Miles Jacklin with 4 wins and Freddie Marlow with 3.

Player of the week for the second session went to James Aram for his improvement, getting two good wins in his section.
